1. What Oath is
Oath is a paid messaging platform. Senders pay an amount set by the receiver to send a message that the receiver agrees to act on within a stated deadline. Funds are held in escrow until the Oath resolves.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to use Oath. You must provide accurate identifying information. Accounts that misrepresent their identity may be suspended or removed.
3. Receivers
You agree to act on every Oath you receive within your stated deadline. Action means accept, decline, refund, or report. Failure to act results in an automatic refund to the sender.
4. Senders
You agree to send messages in good faith. Harassment, sexual solicitation, threats, and spam are violations and forfeit your funds. You may be permanently restricted from sending Oaths.
5. Fees
Oath charges a platform fee on completed Oaths. Stripe charges a processing fee on every transaction. Refunded and expired Oaths incur no fees beyond Stripe’s standard refund handling.
6. Refunds and disputes
Refunds are issued automatically when a deadline passes. Either party may flag an Oath for review. Disputed Oaths are reviewed by Oath staff, typically within 24 hours.
7. Chargebacks
Senders who initiate chargebacks for valid completed Oaths may be permanently restricted. Oath will contest chargebacks where evidence supports the receiver.
8. Account termination
You may close your account at any time. Oath may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms or the community guidelines.
9. Limitation of liability
Oath is provided as is. Oath is not liable for the content of messages, the conduct of users outside the platform, or any indirect damages arising from use of the service.
10. Changes to these terms
We will give notice of material changes. Continued use of Oath after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
