Common questions.
Senders
- What happens if the receiver never responds?
- You are refunded automatically when the deadline passes. The full amount goes back to your original payment method.
- Can I edit my Oath after sending?
- No. The Oath is locked once payment clears. If you need to correct a serious mistake, contact support and we can cancel it before the receiver opens it.
- How do I know my Oath was read?
- You see real-time status: pending, accepted, declined, refunded, or expired. You will be notified the moment it changes.
Receivers
- How do I get paid out?
- Connect a Stripe account in settings. Payouts run on a rolling 48-hour delay after an Oath is accepted or declined.
- Can I block certain people from sending?
- Yes. You can block any verified identifier (phone or email) from your settings.
- Is my answer rate public?
- Yes. Your answer rate and average response time appear on your public Oath page. Both build sender trust.
Trust and safety
- How does reporting work?
- Either party can flag an Oath. Reports are reviewed by Oath staff, typically within 24 hours. Funds stay frozen during a review.
- What if I receive harassing content?
- Report it. Valid reports forfeit the sender’s funds and may permanently restrict their account.
- Does Oath read my messages?
- Not by default. We only review the contents of an Oath when a report is filed or when required by law.
